Sorry it took so long to get to this report but life happens. At our last meeting (1009.07) we had a record number of folks show up. First of all my thanks to the USS Haven for all their support. I look forward to getting together with all of you again real soon. We had about (some trickled in later) 22 people show up. Between the Haven and those wonderful folks from UCF it was a incredible showing of support, unity and fun. Not since 2006 have so many been present. No a lot of business this time around just introducing one another. The coolest thing is we attracted some of the gamers outside our table who just might join us next time. XO Erik Roberts is working on a second meeting date and some of us are getting together for the October 16th night out at Halloween Horror Nights 20. It will be crazy. I was so humbled at how many showed up. I know I’m not much for words so all I can say is thank you, all of you. Bob “From the Captains ready room”

Minutes: Everybody brought someone this month. Kim and Alex brought their Husband/Dad, Javier, and Laura brought her husband, Simon.We briefly went over the items in the agenda, but it was made clear that we need to raise our numbers before we can really try to plan any successful excursions. Some of the ideas we were throwing around were the following: 1. Facebook click ads 2. UCF Look up (Sci Fi clubs, classes etc….) 3. Meet ups. (Find some other chapters/ groups that want to start a meet up) Cost is about $72 for 6 months. 4. Comic shops I will be meeting with Kim on Thursday afternoon to come up with ideas for flyers and business cards so we can get some printed up. We’re going to post them at various Comic Shops and gaming stores and what not. If we collect any money it will go to printing business cards. We’re also going to start contacting other clubs. After the meeting (which ended around 7:30ish) Laura and Simon and the baby had to leave, but the rest of us stuck around and played Munchkin Cthulhu. The four of us stuck around until closing (as usual).

Minutes: So we’ve had our 2nd successful meeting at SciFi City on July 6th and again was so happy to see the same folks show up.  The topics brought up : Nerdapalooza July 17th 2010. Might not make it to this event but knowing its out there once a year I don’t see why we can’t plan for 2011. Community service, we’re working on looking into who we need to talk to in order to get this chapter and all others in R-2 involved in some clean up effort in the event any oil washes up on our East coast beaches. This is the best any chapter can do, not only for their community but also the environment as a whole. We have to get involved folks I don’t see a reason not to. This is our home, and that is our beach. As a side note, some oil has shown up on Coca and Ormond beach.  Being tested as we speak. We brought up online gaming and more rigorous yet exciting stuff to do like paintball, and going to “hardknocks” I’ve seen the website and this place totally rocks. If we can get the area we’re looking for we also were toying around with war games where we as STARFLEET can take on the  Klingons in a real war game environment. Two words …. Pine Barrens lol. We were also talking about going to a real renascence  fair. The right costumes and we can fit right in …. as STARFLEET officers trying to fit into the 16th Century lol Bush Gardens trips were brought up as well as KSC There’s some sort of Trek stuff going on there now. Air shows. These are doable activities. Times are really tough now I know. I think sticking together as Paegans, as friends we do have this common bond. I enjoy meeting with each and every one of you weather your in the area or outside as a correspondence member all of you are equally special, unique. Together we all make up the USS Paegan. Minutes: COMMAND: With a chapter with 3 officers of Capt. rank a command back up system was initiated. If for some reason the Capt. can not commit to his or her duties the XO will be the next in line. Behind the XO there will be a standby of officer grade who will fill in the XO slot and a 3rd backup and a 4th backup. We will never have a empty center seat. I will contact these potential back up officers personally and discuss this with them. SHIP DIVISION OFFICERS: We believe in time as our chapter grows these departments will fill in. SHIP STRUCTURE: The chapter will have two sections, First Generation Division will include those who are into “old school” Trek such as watching Trek shows and movies, Anything Scifi actually spelled “SciFi”, roll playing, comic books. I’m also adding ‘horror movies as well’ New Generation Division will include all those new things the kids today are into. Gaming, anime, comic books. There is no wall, here but a two way door where any time during an event of any of these two divisions can anyone take part in any activity they wish. I can’t wait to learn what new games are out there. I’m also interested in adding a Paranormal Dept. to our chapter. It’s big now and I believe it will attract a lot of people. Talked about at the meeting was how to promote the chapter. Starting up a Facebook page Going to “Meetup.Com” and “TREKSPACE” Also business cards by going to “vistaprint” t-shirts at “cafe press” Newest member Ihrian Brown also offers her services in what ever capacity she is capable in (our thanks Ihrian) Regarding Cafe Press the question was raised if we have a CafePress Act, I’ll refer that to Ray as I am sending this to him to add to our website Also if we have a chapter account / tax ID#. Also refer to Ray. It was worth the rain keeping us in a little longer just to get to know all you good people. We’ll meet every first Tuesday of the month.
